Words To Live By

“Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning, for in You do I trust.” Psalm 143:8

Psalm 143:8 says; “Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning, for in You do I trust.”

This fits with two of my favorite texts in Proverbs 3:5,6

“Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

Daniel believed and practiced these words.

Daniel 6:10 says; “Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, (the decree that if anyone prayed to anyone except King Darius, he would be thrown into the lions den) he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened towards Jerusalem.  Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.”

Persistent and consistent Prayer was so important to Daniel that he was prepared to risk his life for it.  He recognized his complete dependence on God.

When we acknowledge God first thing every morning, surrendering our lives to Him for that day, then God has the opportunity to use us for His glory, and for the building up of His Kingdom on the earth.

Maranatha,

Beverley Carter
