The Lost Sheep That Was Found

By Beverley Carter

We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost. We've all done our own thing, gone our own way. And God has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong, on Him, on Him. – Isaiah 53:6 (MSG)
We’ve all gone astray, but when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are welcomed back into God’s fold. Once we are in the fold, He lovingly cares for us.
He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young. – Isaiah 40:11 (NIV)
What a beautiful picture of Jesus, holding us close to His heart. Because God is our Heavenly Father, He cares about every lost “sheep” and is searching for all, for every single lost “sheep.”
Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn't you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, 'Celebrate with me! I've found my lost sheep!' Count on it - there's more joy in heaven over one sinner's rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue. – Luke 15:4-7 (MSG)
I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before Himself, sacrifices Himself if necessary. – John 10:11 (MSG)
As long as we keep our eyes on Jesus and remain in His fold, we have nothing to fear.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. – John 10:27-30 (KJV)
